Biography

What excites me most about my trade is that it’s constantly changing. There are always challenges and problems to solve. It requires a lot of cooperation where we need to share information with others. It is methodical and hard work, but because we spend so much time outdoors, I enjoy it a great deal. My objective is to stay informed about trends in horticulture and to continue my professional development. In the future, I would like to have a lead role in vegetable production and become a reference source for landscapers and horticulturists who are looking for quality products.

While I was taking my landscape gardening courses, we were told about the provincial competition and that we could apply if we were interested. I applied and was assigned to work with my colleague, Sébastien. We spent endless hours working together to prepare for the competition. When we won the gold medal at the Compétences Québec provincial competition, we earned a trip to the 2018 Skills Canada National Competition, in Edmonton.

Interesting Fact

The people who inspire me the most are my teachers and the landscapers I meet and work with.

Essential Skills

Working with others is very important in landscape gardening, especially in competitions because if you don’t have good team spirit the final work will not be as good.
