Biography

I chose to study and pursue a career in bricklaying because I love working outdoors and building things. When I came across this trade it seemed like a natural fit for me. I learned about skills competitions through my teachers at school who encouraged me to train for a competition and reach for my full potential. I am very excited for the chance to compete at WorldSkills Kazan 2019. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Interesting Fact

My mom is my biggest inspiration because she has taught me the importance of perseverance and determination. She has shown me what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it and you follow through to reach your goals.

Essential Skills

I believe all of the nine Essential Skills are important to have to be a successful bricklayer, from numeracy to working with others, to continuous learning. However, I feel that thinking is the Essential Skill I rely on the most as all the other skills stem from this one.
