My Skills Background<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a Graphic Communications Instructor at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. It\u2019s incredibly rewarding to help our students gain confidence as they learn about graphic design and become creative problem solvers. I\u2019ve been an Expert in my Skill Area since 2018.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Importance of Training<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Experts our goal is to help competitors learn new skills and help them develop their mental strength training and creativity. We include former skills competitors during this process, and share the lessons that were learned from past competitions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the long, stressful days at the WorldSkills Competition, the biggest challenge to success will be burnout. Training can be long and tiring. So, it\u2018s essential that competitors are equipped with exercises they can use during the competition that will bolster their resilience and mental strength.<\/span> As an Expert, success will be knowing that our competitor is confident and ready for anything they are tasked to do at the WorldSkills Competition. We\u2019ll know that we\u2019ve done everything we can to prepare them.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I look forward to sharing this experience with other Experts.<\/span> There is nothing like the WorldSkills community within each Skill Area. It\u2019s an experience that is hard to describe. These connections last a lifetime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Value of the Skills for Success\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All the Skills for Success are important but Problem Solving, Adaptability, and Creativity and Innovation will all be crucial for success at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. I hope that our competitor grows exponentially in their technical abilities, their creative potential and their mental fortitude. I want all our competitors to be proud of what they\u2019ve accomplished.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why I Love Volunteering<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I volunteer for Skills\/Comp\u00e9tences Canada because I love it. Giving a competitor the chance to put their skills and abilities to the test against the best in the world is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I personally benefit by gaining invaluable experience doing assessments and project development at the WorldSkills Competition. I\u2019m proud to play a small role in helping our competitors develop into talented and skillful people.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
