Biography
\n<\/strong>I’ve always had an interest in cars, but more for their appearance rather than the mechanical side of them. I’m an artistic person so car painting just makes sense. It\u2019s a good mix of working alongside people, having the opportunity to learn new strategies but also doing your own thing. I\u2019d like to complete my apprenticeship, open my own small shop one day and work at my own pace.<\/p>\n

I got involved in Skills competitions because my teacher\/trainer and my paint rep at work convinced me it would be a great opportunity for me. The competition experience is stressful, but it\u2019s helped me gain greater self-confidence. I\u2019m excited to represent Team Canada at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, but I\u2019m also quite nervous. On competition days, my biggest challenges will be trying to cope with my anxiety at being in an unfamiliar place, while maintaining my focus and concentration on my project. I’m most looking forward to the people I’ll meet and the opportunity to advance my career.<\/p>\n

Interesting Fact<\/strong>
\nI used to be a gymnast and coached gymnastics before I started my apprenticeship.<\/p>\n

Skills for Success<\/strong>
\nProblem Solving has been very helpful in my training process and competition. In my trade, a lot of problems can arise, and you must know how to resolve and work through those issues to succeed.
