Biography<\/strong>
\nI chose Fashion Technology because clothing is a necessity, and fashion is a constantly evolving industry. The artistic and technical opportunities are endless! I love that a garment is wearable and is a means of self-expression and storytelling. However, the fashion industry is the second largest polluting industry in the world due to the constant demand and overconsumption of clothing. So, my dream is to build my own fashion lines around sustainability.<\/p>\n

I got involved with Skills competitions when my high school fashion teacher, a longtime volunteer with the Skills Canada National Competition, encouraged all of us to compete. I\u2019ve been successful at the Skills Canada National Competition but getting the chance to represent my country and contribute to the global community of skilled professionals is beyond exhilarating! At WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, I believe the competition\u2019s intense pressure will be my biggest challenge. I can\u2019t wait to connect with my fellow competitors!<\/p>\n

\nI’m also working towards getting my private pilot’s license!<\/p>\n

Skills for Success<\/strong>
\nBoth Creativity & Innovation and Problem Solving have been crucial during training and competing. Something often goes wrong during the design, prototyping and construction of a garment, so you must figure out how to fix things fast!
