My Skills Background <\/strong>
\nI’m an instructor at SAIT where I teach automotive service. I’m passionate about my work because it allows me to help students gain confidence as they master complex systems, troubleshoot real-world problems, and prepare for meaningful careers. I\u2019ve been involved with Skills Canada Alberta since 2017, and I’m a member of the Provincial Technical Committee for Automobile Technology. I\u2019ve coached competitors for four Skills Canada National Competitions (SCNC). <\/p>\n

Training Champions <\/strong>
\nAfter coaching at SCNC, stepping into the WorldSkills Competition as a Trainer felt like a natural next challenge. I train competitors by focusing on fundamentals, precision and time management. I also bring in industry partners and past Experts to create a support system. I prepare them for competition, and also develop their confidence, professionalism and adaptability, skills that will serve them beyond the event. <\/p>\n

My role is to help our competitor reach their highest potential and leave knowing they gave it everything they had. If they achieve a deeper mastery of their trade, the confidence in their ability to perform under pressure, and a sense of pride in representing Canada, then we\u2019ve succeeded. <\/p>\n

Why I Love Volunteering <\/strong>
\nVolunteering as a Trainer allows me to contribute to the future of skilled trades in Canada by helping shape a competitor who can inspire others. I believe my competitor chose me as their Trainer because of the strong working relationship we developed during his last semester at SAIT. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
