My Skills Background <\/strong>
\nI\u2019m a Mechatronics Technologist. This multidisciplinary field blends mechanics, electronics and computing to develop solutions for a wide range of industries including automation or manufacturing. Understanding the process of how to build and control systems allows for a better appreciation of the world we live in and how it functions. I\u2019ve been involved with the skills movement as a judge for Skills Canada Ontario for two years. <\/p>\n

Training Champions <\/strong>
\nI decided to become a Trainer for our competitors because I wasn\u2019t able to compete while I was a student. For our current competitors, I\u2019ll be creating a training plan that has variety and allows the competitors to experience different challenges. I also want them to practice their logistics and troubleshooting skills so they can manage unexpected situations. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ll know our training has been successful when our competitors go all out at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 and feel satisfied with their efforts afterwards. That said, getting a Medallion for Excellence or having a podium finish would be the icing on the cake! I hope the competitors make new connections with contestants from other countries. Most of all, I want the competition to be a truly memorable event that lays the foundation for their future endeavors. <\/p>\n

Why I Love Volunteering <\/strong>
\nAs a Trainer, I hope to gain more experience to help train the next Team Canada competitors. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team training Canada\u2019s next generation of skilled tradespersons. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
