My Skills Journey<\/strong>
\nMy Skill Area is Cooking. I competed in the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) in 2024 in Quebec, and the Skills Canada National Competition in 2025 in Saskatchewan. The SCNC experience has helped me to build my confidence, strengthen my technical cooking, and learn to perform efficiently while staying organized and focused.<\/p>\n

Joining the National Alumni Committee (NAC)<\/strong>
\nI decided to join the National Alumni Committee to contribute by sharing the skills and knowledge I have gained and to be a part of creating positive change by increasing engagement in the skilled trades.<\/p>\n

I look forward to connecting with new people, encouraging others to learn about the skilled trades, and helping to inspire more attendees, especially the youth, to explore the opportunities available.<\/p>\n

Overcoming Career Barriers<\/strong>
\nI have had to overcome my anxiety in networking and being in stressful situations while pursuing a career in the culinary arts. During training and competitions, I was often nervous working under time pressure and being observed. By pushing myself through practice and competitive environments, I became more confident and improved my performance in culinary skill settings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
