In recognition of this day, Skills\/Comp\u00e9tences Canada (SCC) is proud to highlight the many FREE resources available to students and teachers on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skillscompetencescanada.com\/en\/program\/skills-for-success\/\">SCC website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Skills for Success, formerly known as Essential Skills, were introduced by the Government of Canada in May 2021. The Skills for Success include Numeracy, Communication, Collaboration, Problem solving, Writing, Adaptability, Reading, Creativity &amp; Innovation and Digital Skills. These skills form the foundation for all other learning and are essential for success in a rapidly changing world. To support youth, educators, and career seekers, SCC has developed a variety of tools and resources, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/ca\/app\/skills-canada\/id970485889\"><strong>A mobile app <\/strong><\/a>featuring over 40 skilled trade and technology careers, plus skill-testing questions for self-assessment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The SFS Challenge Series<\/strong> on the Kahoot! platform. These quiz games are designed to help students discover the nine plus one Skills for Success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A dedicated <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/yourskillsforsuccess.com\/\"><strong>SFS website<\/strong><\/a>, which includes <strong>the SFS Work Ready Youth Program<\/strong>; a workbook series designed to bridge the gap between school and the workplace.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Classroom-ready presentations<\/strong> and an <strong>educator guide<\/strong> to support teachers in integrating SFS into their lessons.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Informative videos<\/strong> on key Skills for Success topics, available on SCC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/SkillsCanadaOfficial\">YouTube channel<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cSkills for Success are more than just workplace tools\u2014they\u2019re life skills,\u201d said Shaun Thorson, Chief Executive Officer, Skills\/Comp\u00e9tences Canada. \u201cBy strengthening them, we give Canadians the ability to succeed in school, advance in their careers, and adapt to a changing world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many Canadian workers do not have skills that are strong enough to equip them to meet the skills demands of their jobs. Six in 10 workers will require skills training before 2027, but only half of workers are seen to have access to adequate training opportunities today.
