Ottawa, ON, May 28, 2021<\/strong> \u2013 Skills\/Comp\u00e9tences Canada and Let\u2019s Talk Science have partnered\u202fto engage students in career discovery and exploration in the Let\u2019s Talk Careers Competition. Round two was held from April 12 to May\u202f21, 2021,\u202fon the\u202fChatterHigh<\/a>\u202fplatform.\u00a0During this\u00a040-day\u00a0competition, students had the opportunity to discover\u00a0diverse\u00a0and\u00a0rewarding careers in the skilled trades and technologies and STEM\u00a0(science, technology,\u00a0engineering,\u00a0and mathematics), while having fun!
\nParticipating students\u202ffrom across Canada\u202fanswered a daily quiz to earn points towards their personal\u00a0and\u00a0school\u00a0leaderboards while exploring thousands of career options. The schools with the highest ranking at the end of\u00a0this\u00a0round won a cash prize, and the students who answered the most questions\u00a0correctly\u00a0in the\u202fallocated\u202ftime also won personal cash bursaries!\u00a0Participants were also able to use points earned in the competition to win draw prizes provided by the Christian\u00a0Labour\u00a0Association of Canada (CLAC), DeWalt and Lincoln Electric.<\/p>\n

The second round of the Let\u2019s Talk Careers Competition had\u00a0over\u00a06,100 participants from\u00a0245\u00a0schools across Canada who\u00a0collectively\u00a0explored over 444,900\u00a0career and post-secondary\u202fpathways and\u202fearned over $25,000 in cash prizes.\u00a0The top schools, who received cash awards, were W.J.\u00a0Mouat\u00a0Secondary,\u00a0Scott Creek Middle School,\u00a0Grace Christian School and Jane Collins Academy.\u00a0Congratulations to all the winners!\u00a0See the\u00a0results\u00a0of round two<\/a>.<\/p>\n
