This will\u00a0create a shortage\u00a0of skilled workers\u00a0which\u00a0we\u00a0will not be able to fill.\u00a0Building a strong skilled workforce is more important than ever.\u00a0Professionals in the skilled trades\u00a0have been essential in keeping our world moving\u00a0during the pandemic and as our country\u2019s economy recovers post\u00a0COVID-19.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gaining\u00a0the\u00a0Skills for Success<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Today\u2019s youth have a lot of choices when it comes to their careers. Skilled\u00a0trade\u00a0careers continue to\u00a0offer\u00a0great\u00a0opportunities and\u00a0are a lucrative and\u00a0fulfilling\u00a0option.\u00a0\u00a0This is an important message\u00a0that many\u00a0youth\u00a0are hearing far too late.\u00a0 As we look to address\u00a0Canada\u2019s\u00a0skills\u00a0challenges\u00a0we need to be looking at how\u00a0we\u00a0meet\u00a0the\u00a0immediate challenges but also have a longer-term strategy.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In\u00a0the longer-term we need to begin orienting\u00a010\u201312-year-old\u00a0students\u00a0through school curriculum\u00a0about\u00a0skilled\u00a0trade occupations and\u00a0the\u00a0key role\u00a0they play in our\u00a0everyday\u00a0lives.\u00a0\u00a0Then couple\u00a0that\u00a0introduction\u00a0with\u00a0presentations from industry professionals, industry tours\u00a0and\u00a0then\u00a0hands on\u00a0experiential challenges.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the short\u00a0to\u00a0medium term\u00a0a\u00a0fantastic way\u00a0to get\u00a0involved in the\u00a0skilled\u00a0trades is by\u00a0pursuing\u00a0the path to\u00a0Apprenticeship\u00a0where you\u00a0get paid while you learn.\u00a0Apprenticeship is a post-secondary pathway consisting of on-the-job training provided by an employer and technical training delivered at a college,\u00a0technical institute\u00a0or union training centre.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span
