I chose beauty therapy because I am passionate about this field. I like to see the inner and outer beauty of people. As a career goal, I would like to gain more knowledge about aesthetics and perfect my skills. I would also like to acquire new skills through additional training to be able to offer diverse and high quality services. Ideally, one day, I hope to have my own business.
My first skill competition was at the regional level, which allowed me to compete in a provincial competition. I than participated in the 2018 Skills Canada National Competition, in Edmonton. I am now training for WorldSkills Kazan 2019. I am proud to represent my region, my province and my country!
The people who inspired me most are my teachers, the judges at the skills competitions, and my coach, Nancy Dumont. All the people who contributed to my success are a source of inspiration.
Thinking has been the most important Essential Skill in my field because I have to continually adapt to different situations and unforeseen events during the competitions. Writingis the skill that I need to improve the most.
