Biography
When I was 15, I started my first job as a farmhand. But my boss also owned a welding shop, so I learned how to weld. I really enjoyed it and chose to pursue welding as a career. Welding is like handwriting. Every weld you do is like your very own signature. Ideally, I’d like to own my own welding company.

I’m grateful to my college instructor Lee Yasinski for encouraging me to enter Skills competitions. Being on stage at the provincial Skills competition, then winning gold at the Skills Canada National Competition 2025, in Regina, was really cool! When I was selected to join WorldSkills Team Canada to compete at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, it was unbelievable! My biggest challenge in Shanghai will be learning how to handle new materials, perform different techniques and try to keep pace with every other country. I’m really looking forward to perfecting my skills.

Interesting Fact
My favourite hobby is dirt biking. I’ve participated in a few races, but I mostly do casual riding on the track and trails.

Skills for Success
I rely on several Skills for Success. Most important are Communication and Collaboration with my trainer. Reading blueprints thoroughly is vital so that I don’t miss anything on competition days. Creativity and Innovation affect how I weld, whether it’s trying new approaches or just figuring out what works best for me. Furthermore, Adaptability and Problem-Solving help me get ready for any changes to the blueprint.
