Competitions
Sophie has been with Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) since 2019. She is the Director of Competitions and oversees the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC), WorldSkills Team Canada and WorldSkills Americas. Previous to SCC her career was spent working with First Nation, Inuit and Métis peoples across Canada.
“If I weren’t at Skills Canada, I would be a fashion designer because I love fashion and being able to imagine and sew new designs inspired by my First Nation background.”
Sophie is a proud member of SagKeeng First Nation in Manitoba. At SCNC, she enjoys watching the Welding competition because it is high energy and fun. She also likes 3D animation because she is always excited to see how the result comes out at the end. Sophie loves taking part in her local Friendship Centre activities and in her free time, she enjoys beading, sewing and reading.
