Aaron Bergbusch
Coordinator, National Competitions
Competitions
Aaron has worked for Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) since January 2023. Aaron works in a variety of roles on the Competitions team, including the management of the Competitions Information System (CIS) and in support of Team Canada. Aaron has an MSc in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and has worked both as a city planner and in senior administration roles at UBC. His professional career has also been influenced by his ambitions in the music industry.
“If I weren’t at Skills Canada, I’d be in public speaking sharing both my songs and insights from the stage. My speaking engagements would be in support of my book Artist’s Last Stand, written to help music artists understand and access the feeling at the core of the dream, so they can stop spinning their wheels, end the inner conflict and frustration, and instead connect with their audiences.”
Aaron watches the Automobile Technology Skill Area at the Skills Canada National Competition because he has teenagers almost ready to learn how to drive and it will surely come in handy to learn some automobile repair tricks. He also likes working in the garden and is currently growing figs: “Yes, it is possible to grow figs in Ottawa!”
