My Skills Background
I’ve been a teacher at my vocational school since 2002. I love the relationship I have with my students who are keen to learn the fascinating trade of CNC Turning. I’ve been fortunate to be a Skills volunteer for several years. I’m currently the Quebec representative on the National Technical Committee responsible for designing and judging the CNC Turning competitions.

Training Champions
I decided to become a Trainer for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 because I’d trained my student for the Skills Canada National Competition. It was only natural to accompany him to Shanghai. We have a strong working relationship. I plan to coordinate the training regimen with my student and my colleague Brandon Walker, who’s attending the WorldSkills Competition as the Expert.

I’ll know I’ve succeeded as a Trainer when I see our competitor performing well and having an extraordinary experience in the process! When he competed in earlier Skills competitions, he experienced great personal growth, while further enhancing his technical skills. I can only hope that what comes next will take him even further in his career!

Why I Love Volunteering
I believe volunteering is an important way to improve my knowledge and meet like-minded people who are also passionate about my trade. I’m looking forward to attending the WorldSkills Competition with my colleagues and my competitor. I’m honoured that he chose me to be his Trainer because we have worked together since he first embarked on his adventure to become a skilled tradesperson.
