My Skills Journey
I won the silver medal in my Skill Area of Electrical Installations, post-secondary level, at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2024, in Quebec City. SCNC had an incredibly positive impact on my life. So many doors have opened for me and I’ve had so much fun! I am a better tradesperson because of my experience with Skills competitions.

Joining the National Alumni Committee (NAC)
I decided to join the NAC to give back to the great organization that I’ve had the pleasure and honour of being a part of for many years. I’m most looking forward to seeing behind the scenes and helping grow the Skills Movement.

Overcoming Career Barriers
I faced a lot of adversity when climbing the ranks as a professional electrician, both mentally and physically. Injustice is one thing I will always stand up to when on a jobsite, and I can confidently say that I overcame it. Although the playing field has not always been fair or just, I have come through to the other side even stronger because of it.

Proudest Moment
My second proudest moment in my career occurred when I achieved my Red Seal Certification in Construction Electrical, one of PEI’s compulsory trades programs. But my number one proudest career moment occurred when I held my Red Seal Designation next to my dad’s for a photo!
