Ashley Weber - 19

Red River College
Car Painting
Winnipeg, Manitoba

Biography

Through high school I took academic courses along with my vocational trade courses and graduated with a dual diploma. I have chosen to be an autobody technician and car painter simply because it is what I love to do.

My current career goals are to receive my red seal ⁄ journeyperson certification along with competing successfully at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. I became involved in skills competitions in grade 12 when my autobody teacher suggested that I compete.

Interesting Fact

I am a Ukrainian dancer and instructor and I have been dancing for over fifteen years. I continue to stay actively involved in the Ukrainian community.

Essential Skills

Two of the Essential Skills that have been instrumental for car painting are reading text and document use. As a painter, technical data sheets tell you absolutely everything you need to know. Therefore it is critical that you not only know how to read these sheets but understand them as well.
