Dan Zvanovec

Dan Zvanovec lives in Selkirk, Manitoba and is currently a contract instructor at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology in the Millwright Apprenticeship program. Dan has been volunteering with Skills/Compétences Canada for twenty years. He has served as a National Technical Committee (NTC) member, chairing the committee for five years and co-chairing for ten years. He has also been appointed as a Workshop Manager for WorldSkills.

Dan retired in 2014 as a Millwright Instructor. In addition to his Red Seal Millwright trade certificate, Dan has a Computer Science background from the University of Manitoba. Starting at the age of 17, he has accumulated 44 years of experience as a Red Seal Millwright, working from Terrace Bay, Ontario to Calgary, Alberta during the summer months. As a 36-year mentor and an instructor to his students, Dan continues to maintain this great philosophy: “the day he cannot learn from his students is the day he will stop teaching.”
