Biography
After high school, I planned to enroll in CEGEP, but Covid changed learning in person, to online courses. That’s when I realized I didn’t want to work behind a desk. I enrolled in a machining technique program at the École des métiers de l’aérospatiale de Montréal (ÉMAM), where I could learn hands-on. I loved my experience! The job of machinist is a good fit for me. I see myself continuing my training in order to obtain my vocational diploma in welding.
Representing Canada at the WorldSkills Competition is a privilege. I’ll need to continue to work on developing my skills, to be successful at WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
Interesting fact
In 2015, I competed at the Jeux du Québec in archery, and in 2016 my MEKANO robotics team from Lucien-Pagé high school qualified for the FIRST Robotics WorldSkills Competition, held in St. Louis, Missouri. So, when ÉMAM approached me to take part in a skills competition, I immediately accepted.
Skills for Success
During my training and during the competition, my numeracy skills and my ability to adapt have helped me enormously. I had to be innovative to get around certain difficulties. I also had to anticipate the result of each action while visualizing the final product.
