When I chose a trade, it was on a whim, but I knew I wanted to choose one that allows me to use my creativity. I love that creativity and innovation are valued in Mechanical Engineering CAD.
I originally got involved with skills competitions after my teacher suggested it to me and I went with it. I have to say that it has been an amazing experience so far. I was very happy to learn that I will be competing at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. I wasn’t expecting anything like that when I first entered skills competitions. I feel that my biggest challenge at the WorldSkills Competition will be competing against the other competitors, who have also been training hard for this event. I’m really looking forward to the experience of testing my skills and abilities against the other participants.
The best advice I’ve ever received is to “work hard and have fun,” and I think that will help me when I compete at WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
Skills for Success
I must say that out of all the nine plus one Skills for Success, I believe that Adaptability has been the most instrumental in my training process and during competitions. You never know what to expect and you have to be able to adapt.
