Saskatchewan Polytechnic
Electrical Installations

Biography

I chose a trade because the concept of earning while you learn was very appealing as opposed to incurring high debt from university. I chose electrical installations as my trade because it looked like a challenging trade on a physical and mental level. I aspire to one day run my own company.

I was going to school for my level one when I learned about the skills competitions. One of my instructors mentioned a competition involving the trades so I figured I would give it a shot.

Interesting Fact

My biggest inspiration would be my parents as they taught me the value of hard work and what it can do for you, as well as good morals, which I apply not only to my career but to my life.

Essential Skills

Thinking is the most important Essential Skill in my trade as there are a lot of code rules to follow and many ways to do the same job in electrical work. Thinking about how to do something quickly, neatly, and properly is critical to succeeding.
