Biography
Growing up, I was heavily involved in the Air Cadets Program spending summers at air force bases across Canada. I couldn’t decide between mechanics or becoming a pilot then I discovered my trade – a perfect hybrid of both worlds. I love the preciseness of our work, such as measuring components to a ten-thousandth of an inch to maintain serviceability. My current goals are to get my Aircraft Maintenance Engineer M2 license and my Airbus H145 type course training.

When I was at SAIT, I thought it would be cool to participate in a Skills competition. I didn’t participate that year, but a mentor helped me prepare for competitions in the ensuing years. I was blown away when I learned that I’d be competing at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All the training will be fun, but nothing will compare to seeing the competition on an international scale.

Interesting Fact
I’m an instructor at 341 Mundare Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Vegreville, Alberta. I teach kids aged 12-19 the basics of everything aviation.

Skills for Success
I rely most on Reading, Writing, and Problem-Solving during training and competitions. My trade is impossible to do without all three. Comparing the technical documents to the aircraft, troubleshooting faulty systems and writing logbook entries are the core aspects of my work. I also rely on the best advice I’ve ever received: Lock in, put your head down and get the job done right.
