My Skills Background

I’m a Digital Media instructor. I love sharing my passion for creative technology and helping students navigate their learning journeys. This is my first year as an Expert in my Skill Area.

The Importance of Training

Training helps competitors bridge gaps between their workplace skills and the competition. The more training hours, the better. There needs to be a balance between physical and mental training, while being mindful of burnout. Furthermore, building a strong relationship with the Expert and Trainer enables a competitor to stay focused and set reasonable goals.

My competitive nature means I want my competitor to reach the podium. But they are smiling and still enthusiastic about their field at the end of the competition, that spells success for me. Overall, I hope my competitor stays calm, learns about different cultures, and makes new friends and industry contacts.

As for me, every Skills competition is an opportunity to connect with like-minded people.

The Value of the Skills for Success

Reading, Communication, Collaboration and Adaptability are instrumental to the competitor understanding the instructions and patterns involved in the competition tasks. Additionally, they must use Creativity & Innovation to tackle obstacles that may arise during the training and the competition.

Why I Love Volunteering

I love helping people find their passion. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch competitors evolve throughout the competition process and walk away with an unforgettable experience.
