My Skills Background
I’m an electrical trades college instructor and an electrical contractor. As an instructor, I mentor students and share my passion. As a contractor, I’m current with the day-to-day changes in new technologies. I’ve been involved with Skills since 2017 as a volunteer judge, then as a member of the Alberta Provincial Technical Committee. In 2018, I hosted our first Electrical Installations competition.

Training Champions
My competitor became a student of mine when he enrolled in a Dual Credit Electrical program when he was in Grade 11. I’ve since trained him for regional, provincial and national skills competitions where he’s medaled numerous times. Training him for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 seemed logical. My training program consists of networking with people in the industry, and other Trainers and Experts, to build our knowledge portfolio. I aim to help my competitor enhance his skills and push him to reach his full potential.

I’ll be successful if I can create an environment for my competitor where he feels thoroughly supported and is inspired to perform to the best of his abilities. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing years of hard work come to fruition.

Why I Love Volunteering
Being a Trainer gives me the chance to inspire and guide my competitor. To that end, I believe my competitor chose me as his Trainer because he sees my dedication, trusts my guidance and values the consistent support I provide to help him succeed. I am beyond excited to be a part of this team.
