My Skills Background
I originally trained as an aircraft mechanic but switched to teaching four years ago. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and the experiences I had working as a mechanic.
The Importance of Training
To prepare for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 the competitor should ideally work within the field they’re competing in and learn alongside seasoned professionals. They must develop mental toughness while practicing their technical skills for up to five hours a week. I will focus on his weaker areas, using resources specifically tailored to his needs.
In Shanghai, my competitor will face challenges such as overwhelming pressure and working with unfamiliar tools/equipment. He’ll need to stay focused on his performance. This competition will be a life-changing experience for him.
I’m most looking forward to meeting new people who are passionate about their craft. I know I’ll come back with unforgettable memories and incredible connections.
The Value of the Skills for Success
During training, Problem Solving, Numeracy and Adaptability will be critical skills since aircraft maintenance is about understanding complex systems, interpreting technical documentation, and troubleshooting. While competing, the competitor must also use Communication and Collaboration to communicate clearly and work within a time-sensitive environment.
Why I Love Volunteering
I volunteer because I truly enjoy it. I get to meet people who share a passion for their trade. It’s incredible to see young people pour great effort into their training and make significant progress in their chosen fields.
