Keegan Sturge
Biography
Electrical work sparked my interest as a trade because it’s amazing how pressing a button in one room can impact an entire building. The combination of Problem Solving and creating something tangible makes it a perfect fit for me. But I’m still exploring my career options because there are so many to choose from in this field.
My college instructor first introduced me to Skills competitions. The competition experience was incredible and pushed my electrical skills to a new level. Winning a gold medal at the Skills Canada National Competition and then being selected to join Team Canada are highlights that I’ll never forget! Competing at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 will be even more incredible. My biggest challenges there will be adapting to different electrical equipment, colour coding, and the lack of adherence to the Canadian Electrical Code. I’m really looking forward to meeting people from around the world!
