Biography
I chose the trades because I love hands-on work. I started working in construction and tried a few different trades but really enjoyed Plumbing and Heating. I love the variety of work which offers a new challenge every day. I also like seeing the finished outcome of my work. I’d like to get my Red Seal certification and continue to expand my skills. My dream is to start my own business.

I heard about Skills competitions from my boss and saw what he achieved when he competed. That made me want to give it a go. I would describe Skills competitions as the Olympics for trades! When I was selected to compete at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, it didn’t feel real at first. But now I feel super stoked to be representing Canada on the global stage! My biggest challenge will be adapting to the tools and rules of other countries for four days straight. No matter what, I’m aiming to compete to the best of my ability. I’m also really looking forward to traveling to a new country.

Interesting Fact
I love to snowboard during winter and be on the water in the summer. I also love to tinker with my vehicles.

Skills for Success
Adaptability has been an instrumental skill for me in my training process and during competitions as it’s taught me how to effectively work around many types of problems.
