She creates a lot of the communications materials such as the monthly newsletters and blogs, press releases, scripts, speeches, recap documents and even does the occasional translation. She is also responsible for SCC’s media relations and coordinating interviews. It’s no secret that Michèle’s favourite and most important Skill for Success is Writing! She has a B.A in Communications from the University of Ottawa and has worked for non-profits for over 20 years.
“If I weren’t at Skills Canada, I would be a chef because I enjoy cooking and creating new recipes”.
Michèle enjoys watching the competitions in the construction sector at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC). She loves how competitors can build a project from almost nothing and create a finished product. Michèle’s brother founded a landscaping company which makes her no stranger to skilled trades and adds to the appreciation she has for skilled workers. Her boyfriend also works in construction. Furthermore, she loves interior design, mainly the aspect of working with a blank canvas and creating her own style.
