My Skills Background
I first got involved in Skills competitions in 2021, and this year at SCNC Regina 2025, my competitor brought home the silver medal at the post-secondary level. When they announced the members of Team Canada heading to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, I literally jumped out of my chair—I couldn’t believe it! I was over the moon for her.

As a Hairdressing teacher, I thrive on creating a dynamic, inspiring environment where my students can grow and shine. They inspire me every day, and I love seeing their creativity take shape. My mission is simple: to give them every tool, skill, and the confidence they need to succeed as professional hairdressers. And nothing makes me prouder than staying in touch with my former students and watching them flourish in their careers.

Training Champions
I’ve been training my competitor since September, and from day one my approach has been simple: start with the knowledge she already has, then build on it—refining, improving, and sometimes simplifying the task at hand. At the WorldSkills Competition, success isn’t just about hard work; it’s about training smart. It’s about finding balance, thinking strategically, and staying aware of every move you make. Above all, I want her to put into practice everything she’s learned, while managing her stress with confidence. I have no doubt this journey will be a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience for her.

Why I Love Volunteering
Volunteering as a Trainer is an incredible opportunity to grow—both in skill and in perspective. I thrive on exchanging ideas with other Trainers, and every conversation leaves me inspired and energized. For me, it’s about constantly learning, expanding my knowledge, and soaking up every bit of insight I can. I want to learn it all, know it all, and use it to become the best Trainer I can be!
