Get ready for the next Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) which will be held on May 29 and 30, 2025 at the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) District.
Through SCNC, Skills/Compétences Canada promotes skilled trade and technology careers to Canadian youth. The Skills Canada National Competition is our flagship event and is an ideal way to connect with tomorrow’s workforce.
SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 500 of Canada’s best in skilled trades and technologies come to SCNC to compete in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. At SCNC, thousands visit the competition floor and discover the exciting and rewarding careers that are available in the skilled trades and technologies through over 50 interactive Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities, by visiting exhibitor booths, and engaging with industry professionals.

RBC Best of Region Award
This Best of Region award is a medal awarded to one competitor or team from each province and territory during the competition’s Closing Ceremonies. This prestigious award is a testament to the skill and knowledge of its recipients. The RBC Best of Region Award is given to the competitor with the best weighted score from each province and territory.

Gene Haas Foundation Award – CNC Machining and Precision Machining
Gene Haas Foundation is offering cash awards to CNC Machining and Precision Machining medalists at the 2025 Skills Canada National Competition. These awards are available to both Secondary and Post-Secondary competitors!

AMJ Campbell Awards – Workplace Safety and Heavy Vehicle Technology
AMJ Campbell is providing cash prizes totaling $5,000 to all medalists in the Workplace Safety and Heavy Vehicle Technology Skill Areas to help them further their careers in their field of choice.

CWB Welding Foundation Award
A CWB WeldSAFE™ PPE kit will be awarded by the CWB Foundation to the Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalists for both Secondary and Post-Secondary Welding Competitions

Messer Canada Award
A SolidWELD dual voltage Multipro 200SP single-phase welding machine will be awarded to the Gold Medalist in the Post-Secondary competition. The machine comes with ready-to-weld torches for all processes. It is simple to set-up and is perfect for people new to welding.

Southwire Award
A Southwire tool backpack which includes a large selection of top selling and innovative tools and meters, and a PROBAGBP backpack with a Tools catalog, will be awarded to the Post-Secondary gold medalist in Electrical Installations.

Sam Piercey Foundation Award
The Sam Piercey Foundation is offering cash awards to the gold medalists in Autobody Repair and Car Painting.

Dave Smith Award
This $2,500 award is presented to the Post-Secondary gold medalist in the Car Painting skill area.

Fieldpiece Instruments Award
Fieldpiece will award cash prizes to Post-Secondary medalists in the Refrigeration and Air Conditional Skill Area: $2,500 for gold, $1,500 for silver and $1,000 for bronze.

May 28: Opening Ceremony
Attended by approximately 1,800 spectators, including competitors, their supporters, industry partners, government officials, special guests, and the general public. The Opening Ceremony will officially kick off the Skills Canada National Competition 2025 with an exciting and inspiring show including a parade of the provincial and territorial teams.
May 29 and 30: SCNC 2025
The Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 500 of Canada’s best in skilled trades and technologies come to SCNC to compete in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. May 31: Closing Ceremony
Attended by approximately 1,800 spectators, during the Closing Ceremony, gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded for all the trade and technology competitions.

Skills/Compétences Canada invites students and youth groups to spend an unforgettable day discovering careers in skilled trades and technologies at the Skills Canada National Competition. Transportation subsidies are available!

Sherry Holmes:
Sherry Holmes is a contractor, TV personality and champion for women in skilled trades! Sherry will be joining us for the Opening Ceremony on May 28 and onsite on May 29 for the first day of competitions.
Arianna Dyck:
Arianna Dyck, Miss Rodeo Agribition Alumni 2023-2024 and welding apprentice will be sharing her journey and advice with visitors on both competition days.

Competitions
In our competitions, we offer all the opportunities for our competitors to be able to share their talents, improve their skills in trades and technology. As a result, we are dedicated to growing and responding to the needs of anyone who wants to participate.
Sensory guides
All of our competitions and events are identified with sensory icons:
Strong Smells: These smells may cause discomfort to individuals who are sensitive to strong scents. Be informed that these smells are from materials or chemicals (paints, adhesives/glues, automotive fluids, fragrances, and cooking ingredients). If you have smell sensitivity, you may need to wear a mask when visiting them
Bright Lights: Some competitions may have bright lights or flashing lights, especially those involving welding, bricklaying, landscape gardening, autobody repairs, and electrical work. If you have light sensitivity, you can choose to wear sunglasses to visit these areas.
Loud Noise: Some competitions may generate high noise. If you are sound sensitive, noise cancelation equipment is recommended. For example: Carpentry, cabinet making or the robotics competition areas can be noisy as well as popular Try-a-Trade® and Technology activities.
Busy Spaces: The hallways of the Skills Canada National Competition can be very busy areas. Alongside the rest areas, quiet spaces are offered throughout to take breaks and avoid the crowds.

Support persons
We believe that everyone should have equal access to our activities and competitions. Support persons are welcome at our events, we will make every effort possible to accommodate space on the competition floor.

Volunteer at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2025
Volunteer opportunities are available from May 24 to May 31 for SCNC2025 in Regina!
There are many roles available to choose from, including:
- Helping at the Opening Ceremony
- Helping at the Closing Ceremony
- Helping with school group tours
- Registration desk
- Wayfinding
- Handing out promotional items
- Competition site setup and teardown
Volunteers are provided with an event t-shirt and are provided with complimentary lunch for shifts longer than 4 hours.

Pre-registration is required. We will be unable to accept volunteers on-site at the event.
